Delaware HVAC Technicians And Contractors

Delaware currently offers 2 types of HVAC licenses:

  • HVACR Restricted
  • HVACR Unrestricted

Prerequisites to getting licensed:

  • If you have a journeyperson certificate, you must show proof of 2 years work experience. If you do not have a journeyperson certificate, you are required to show proof of 7 years work experience.
  • The HVACR Board in Delaware must approve your application before you may attempt the exam

Steps to getting licensed:

  1. Fill out the application here.
  2. Pay the applicable $87 fee.
  3. Once approved, you may register to take the exam at any Prometric testing center. The exam fee is $70 and requires a passing score of 70%.

Remember that federal law requires anyone handling open refrigerants to obtain EPA Certification. Here is a list of schools in Delaware offering HVAC Training or courses.
